Online Pesticide Product Renewal Usage Shows Big Increases

The FY 2005 pesticide product renewal season, which, for many states, ended December 31st, saw many companies using the KRS Online ERenewals system for the first time. “We not only realized a 54 percent increase in unique users,” said Tracy Begley, technical client services manager for KRS, “we had even larger increases in all of our other program categories. It clearly demonstrates the industry’s desire to investigate technological advancements in the area of regulatory compliance management.”

Pesticide Product eRenewals More Than Triple Last Year's Pace

Online renewals of pesticide products this year are 353 percent higher than during the same time period in 2003, according to numbers released today. While the number of products being renewed is substantial, what is even more significant is the number of companies submitting online renewals, which is 431 percent greater than at this time last year. “What this means,” said Tracy Begley, technical client services manager at Kelly Registration Systems, Inc. (KRS), “is that many of the smaller companies with less than five registered products are discovering the convenience and cost-saving benefits of eRenewals”.

As the end-of-year pesticide product renewal season opens, many states plan to reduce their workload by increasing the number of online renewals. With an average of 10,000 registered pesticide products per state, online renewals offer opportunities for increased efficiencies. As online renewal adoption grows, states have less paper forms, fewer checks and more accurate and complete information. For these reasons, states will be promoting their online services more aggressively this year.
