COVINGTON, GA - (August 27, 2012) – Kelly Products, a leading provider of
essential information and automation solutions to the agribusiness industry,
today announced a contract with Clemson University for Kelly Registration Systems
(KRS), the software division of Kelly Products, to build and maintain
Clemson University’s administrative management system for product registrations,
licensing and renewals. In addition, KRS will manage the state’s pesticide,
fertilizer, and nursery inspection, investigation and enforcement efforts.
KSAMS (Kelly State Administrative Management System) will allow the state to
capture product registration, licensing, permitting and certification data
electronically, and facilitate data sharing among departments and other KRS
solutions. All automation is delivered by a hosted platform that requires no
infrastructure investment while delivering greater accuracy, faster processing
and immediate payment capture.
Additionally, KRS will implement KSIIS (Kelly State Inspection and Investigation
System) to manage the state’s investigation and enforcement efforts. This
application allows state field inspectors to utilize the benefits of technology
to increase compliance and awareness for the public.
“The key to information efficiency is automation, and we have proven this can be
done flexibly and affordably. We are able to develop a custom software package
that meets an organization’s needs on a single platform accessed online, with no
infrastructure investment required,” says Stuart Edmondson, CTO, Kelly
Registration Systems. “As a result, agencies can fulfill their duties at a level
not possible with paper-based systems, even in the face of contracting budgets.”
Prior to this contract, KRS has worked with the South Carolina Department of
Agriculture managing numerous state product renewals including seeds, salvagers,
weighmasters, specialty foods, butterfat testers and samplers, pump and scale
repairman, frozen desserts, metrology labs, commodity assessments, and more. KRS
also developed and hosts the state’s Certified South Carolina website and the
electronic South Carolina Market Bulletin.
"Our traditional clients are state departments of agriculture; however the
regulatory agencies vary from state to state. We have been working with Clemson
University for some time and are happy to deepen the relationship,” said
Edmondson.
