Montvale, NJ — Bayer Environmental Science's Revolver post-emergent herbicide (active ingredient: foramsulfuron) recently received registration for use in California.

Revolver controls unwanted cool-season grasses that appear in tolerant warm-season turfgrasses, including numerous cultivars of bermudagrass and zoysiagrass. Revolver controls goosegrass and henbit, and suppresses centipedegrass. It is labeled for use on golf course turf, sports fields, commercial lawns, cemeteries, parks, campsites, recreational areas, home lawns, roadsides, school grounds and sod farms.

"Revolver will primarily be used on overseeded dormant bermudagrass as a transition aid," said Ben Cicora, business manager, herbicides/PGRs. "It will also be used to remove volunteer ryegrass, Poa annua, Poa trivialis and goosegrass from actively growing bermudagrass and zoysiagrass without harming the desirable grasses. Results are generally apparent within one to two weeks after application."
